Picross 3D is the best puzzle game I’ve played in years. As the name implies Picross 3D is a 3D puzzle game, meaning you’ll be working your puzzles a bit differently from past Picross games. Basically, in each puzzle you’re given a block made up of other, tinier blocks. On some of these tinier blocks are numbers, which indicate how many blocks in that row or column are going to be in the final image. Every block that isn’t in the puzzle gets eliminated, and when you’re finished you’re left with an object, animal, or otherwise familiar thing. It’s easy to learn, fun to master, and there are hundreds of puzzles packed onto the cart, so you’ll be playing the game for weeks. And if you get bored of that, you can try your hand at making your own picross puzzles, or download someone’s puzzle they’ve made online. Picross 3D gets my nod for best DS puzzle game, hands down.
