Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars

Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars Cover

System: PS1

Genre: Point-and-Click Adventure

Release: 1/31/98

Completed: No

Point-and-click (or in this case button-push) adventures have had a soft spot in my heart harkening back to the early PC days when it was the prime gaming genre. Though not uncommon, a few of these PC point-and-click games made the voyage over the sea of technology to the console market, and Broken Sword is chief among them. Revolving around a witness to a crime in Europe, Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is probably better on the PC where the genre emerged, but the PS1 port seems to be a good game to boot regardless. There’s a sequel on the PS1 as well, and a few more releases in the series, but this one here has been ported to damn near every device imaginable, with the latest being the DS and Wii versions.
